Aunt update

Mum phoned at 0:30 last night - just as I'd finally dropped off to sleep. Apparently the police had just returned the keys to my aunt's flat and told her that they had located her to the local cottage hospital. Also something about getting the local surgery opened out of hours to confirm...
Beyond that we don't know anything. No idea why she'd been admitted or when, although it could just as easily be lack of mental compentence as a fall whilst out, and that's without considering the possibility of a stroke or any other common scenario.
So this morning it's figure out visiting hours and presumably take my folks over there to see her. And see if we can find out the situation. (Did I mention I hate hospitals - too many bad experiences like this when I was small. I'd forgotten, until the smell of the place when I took Dad to this hospital for an appointment a few weeks back.)
Already my mind is whirring on the 'what happens next?'
For a while we've been saying that she's not competent to live on her own and I imagine that the hospital won't discharge her to live on her own, even if whatever has put her there is fairly trivial.
